Swap/Show 9 AM – 3 PM (dealer set up at 6 AM)   Happy Hour 6-7 PM    Banquet 7 PM

The GM&O Historical Society’s 36th Annual Fall Meeting will begin with the always enjoyable Railroadiana Swap Meet from 9 AM to 3 PM.  Admission to the swap is $3, and just $2 for kids under 12 years of age.  In addition to the many dealer tables full of memorabilia and books, there will be slides, photos, model railroad supplies, and the ever popular GM&O related model contest.  Bring your latest creations for all to see!  Vendor set-up starts at 6 AM, and recognizing that gasoline prices may influence decisions on which shows one might attend this fall, the GM&OHS has reduced table prices to $15 each, with discounts available for four or more tables. Contact Dave Wagner for further details, but don’t delay, as our 2007 Swap Meet was a complete sellout in advance of the show date.

For the evening Banquet you will have your choice of beef tips or citrus herb roasted chicken, with a tossed salad, green beans, roasted potatoes, rolls, and chocolate cake or pecan pie for dessert.  Cost of the dinner is $30 (tax and gratuity included), for children age 12 thru adult.  Small children under the age of 12 eat free of charge.  For those planning to stay overnight, take advantage of our special block of room reservations by mentioning the “GM&OHS” and get a $70 per night rate for show attendees and vendors. Contact the hotel directly at 731-885-8850.

On your way to Union City, think about passing through the nearby railroad hotspots of Fulton and/or Paducah, KY.  Once in UC, check out the restored GM&O/NC&StL depot downtown, with ex-GM&O caboose 2618 on display.  For those arriving Friday, we will have our traditional social get together in the evening to view slides and videos into the wee hours, catching up with old and new friends alike.  Also, an invitation is extended to any interested members wishing to attend the Board of Directors meeting Sunday morning at 8 AM before departing for home.

***Co-Coordinator Dave Wagner may be reached at 773-581-4809 or at railfest2008@gmohs.org  if any questions need to be answered.***

Information will be added to this page as the time of the October show approaches.

For now, a Vendor Reservation form is available, Maps showing the Union City area in four levels of detail are provided, and a Banquet Reservation form can be printed out.
