GM&O Route Detail Maps

The following maps provide detail that describes stations along the different routes of the GM&O.  Each map has a brief description including predecessor railroad and primary map terminals.

Chicago to Bloomington

This map describes the northern mainline portion of the former Alton Railroad from Chicago, IL to Bloomington, IL, and includes several northern Illinois branches.

Bloomington to St. Louis and Roodhouse

This map describes the southern mainline portion of the former Alton Railroad from Bloomington, IL to St. Louis, MO, and, and includes the mainline from Springfield, IL ro Roodhouse, IL and from Godfrey, IL to Roodhouse, IL.

Roodhouse to Kansas City

This map describes the western mainline portion of the former Alton Railroad from Roodhouse, IL to Kansas City, MO, and includes the branch to Jefferson City, MO.

St. Louis to Jackson, TN

This map describes the northern mainline portion of the former Mobile & Ohio Railroad from St. Louis, MO to Jackson, TN.

Jackson, TN to Mississippi and Alabama
